I might be an Atascadero lawyer by profession, but I also wear the hats of community service leader, youth soccer coach and even a referee. In fact, for me all the lessons learned in law school at USC were brought to life on the soccer field. Both law professors and children have taught me a lot about hard work, fairness, honesty and how to play by the rules. These are the same attributes that I bring to work with me every day.

If you’re curious about my background and how I became a lawyer in Atascadero, here’s the basics: I graduated High School as Valedictorian in Bakersfield, then Graduated from UC Irvine in 1980. I passed the bar exam in 1983 after graduating from law school at USC. I than worked for multiple firms down in Southern California before finally moving up to San Luis Obispo after 10 years of legal practice and joined Radovich Cumberland & Coates in 1994. In 1995, I became “of counsel” to the firm and stayed in that role for a total of 16 years. From such a broad law background, I eventually chose to specialize in estate planning and business formation. I am a member of the American Bar Association and the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association, and was given license to practice in the Northern and Central District Federal Courts as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. I have also served as a court-appointed arbitrator.

My wonderful wife and I live in Atascadero and have two delightful children than recently graduated from college. I am a certified USSF soccer referee and an experienced girl’s soccer coach since 1994. I have been certified as a leader for the Boy Scouts of America and have held Kiwanis International membership since 1987. I also hold the title of a Distinguished Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Atascadero.

That’s enough about me – it’s much more important that we talk about you!
